CBS 305

CBS Current Boost Systems

 (3)
The CBS 212A, 305 and 320 Current Boost Systems are electronic devices designed to provide the Basler APR series of static voltage regulators with power to sustain exciter current when severe overloading of brushless generators occurs such as during motor starting or during short circuit conditions. Power for the current boost systems is derived from a power CT installed in two phases of the generator output.

Class 200 Equipment EDM200 Exciter Diode Monitor for Brushless Generator

EDM200 Exciter Diode Monitor for Brushless Generator

The Basler Model EDM 200 is a solid-state device using a form C contact for alarm indication. The EDM 200 is designed for behind-the-panel-mounting. A bargraph display provides easy on-site calibration.

For details, see Bulletin SRO.

EL200 Minimum/Maximum Excitation Limiter

EL200 Minimum/Maximum Excitation Limiter

 (4)

The minimum/maximum excitation limiter allows for safe operation of a generator or synchronous motor connected to the utility (infinite source). This is accomplished by controlling the field excitation within the operating limits of the generator's or synchronous motor's capability curve. The excitation limiter has become increasingly important in those applications where effective control of a generator means maximum utilization of the generator's total capability.

The excitation limiter, when used with a Basler automatic voltage regulator or a static exciter, offers excellent control of a generator operating in parallel with a utility grid.

ESD201

ESD-201/ESD-202 Energy Storage Devices

 (2)

The Basler Electric energy storage devices are an economical alternative to existing energy storage devices. They can be used when a station battery source is not available for circuit breaker tripping. The ESD-201 converts an ac input into dc and stores sufficient energy to trip the circuit breaker for up to 72 hours after the ac is removed. The ESD- 202 converts an AC input and stores sufficient energy to trip the circuit breaker for at least 12 seconds.

For details, see Bulletin UJO.

MVC-300

MVC Manual Voltage Control

 (5)
A wide range of manual voltage controls is offered as a redundant back-up to the automatic voltage regulator. The manual voltage controller allows for operator control of the generator's voltage when the automatic voltage regulator is removed from the voltage control loop.

RA70ADC1O

RA-70 Microprocessor-Based Reference Adjuster

 (8)
Basler's Microprocessor-based Reference Adjuster, RA-70, is a low burden, variable resistance controller, providing superior performance and reliability over conventional motor operated potentiometers. Applications include voltage regulators, solid state manual voltage control modules, governors, or other devices requiring a low burden, variable resistance for control. The RA-70 has a microprocessor which allows reprogramming at the job site to optimize control of the system. This unit features a rheostat-type setpoint control voltage regulator interface and a 120 Vac/dc Dual Feed Power Supply. It is applicable to a 500 Ohms: SRF, SRH/E, SSE AVR and has a single reference signal.

SBO240

SBO Series Excitation Support System

 (5)

Many brushless exciter-equipped generators are required to sustain the substantial current overloads associated with starting large motors. Typically, such overloads can be several times the normal running current. Some generating systems may also be required to maintain line current during brief periods of short circuit fault conditions. Brushless exciter-equipped generators and their associated voltage regulators are unable to meet these requirements because the generator output provides the voltage regulator power. As the generator output voltage decreases, the ability of the voltage regulator to provide exciter field power also decreases, and the result can be a total loss of excitation. The Basler Excitation Support System ...

Class 200 Equipment SCP250 VAR/Power Factor Controller

SCP250 VAR/Power Factor Controller

 (4)

The SCP 250 senses generator output voltage and current, provides an output signal that is electronically injected into the voltage regulator. When VARs are controlled, the voltage regulator (or static exciter) changes its output until the programmed reactive load current is attained. When power factor is controlled, the regulator changes the excitation until the selected power factor is obtained. The unit is designed so that the voltage regulator is in total control of generator excitation until the generator breaker is closed. At breaker closure the SCP 250 assumes excitation control.

The SCP 250 also contains a voltage limiting feature so that in the event utility power is lost and the peaking generator main breaker remains ...
